FEATURING
TWO DISTINCT COURSES OF FIRE:
• URBAN STUDIES COURSE – Presented by the IDPA Staff • SWAMP
COURSE – Presented by the T R & S Staff
EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS:
• PUMP OR SEMI-AUTOMATIC SHOTGUN – 12 or 20 ga., smoothbore only, 28” barrel max., iron or optical sights.
• AMMUNITION – 75 rounds of buckshot, 25 slugs. Any 12 ga. buckshot or slug load could be used (including “tactical” or “reduced recoil” loads). For the budget-minded, #6 or larger heavy birdshot loads (1 ¼ ounce, 3 ¼ dram equiv. minimum) could be substituted for buckshot. Particpants shooting a 20 ga. were required to shoot full power buckshot loads and slugs.
Thanks to a heavy rain, even the Urban stages were swampy.
|
• ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT – A sling may be useful but is not mandatory. You will need some type of ammunition carrier capable of carrying at least 10 extra rounds of ammunition. Disposable clothes and ankle supporting footwear are recommended for the Swamp Course.
The two distinct courses will be scored separately. The Swamp Course is a “tactical”-type match, and WILL be run according to the Tactical Shotgun and Rifle Program
rules (This includes all equipment, divisions, etc. The Urban Studies Course will be more of an “anything goes, speed shoot / fun”-type match and will be similar to Urban courses of the past (2002, 2000, etc.). It will NOT be run according to the Tactical Shotgun and Rifle Program
rules.
Your entry fee of $30 buys you a ticket to both courses for the largest combat shotgun match ever held in Ohio. A hotdog / hamburger lunch will be provided as part of your match fee. This is a BYOB event! As usual, a commemorative T-shirt will also be
available for an additional $25.
