2009
IDPA ClassiferThe dust has settled on the ranges and the 2009 IDPA Classification Match has gone into the history books.
A record number of shooters took a gamble on the weather and despite some rain, continued to shoot through. 5,400 rounds went downrange for anyone counting.
I apologize to the shooters for the delay while trying to shoot stages 1 & 2. It was not from a lack of trying. Initially 4 shooting bays were set up with 6 shooting positions. An additional shooting bay was added later for a total of all 5-pistol ranges available.
10 Safety Officers were on hand to run the 60 shooters through the 14 strings of fire. Stage 1 is always a back up with 7 starts-of-the-clock.
The IDPA program at Ashland Lake Gun Club has never had 60 shooters for a match. Although this contributed to the bottleneck, it was great to see so many new shooters interested in shooting IDPA. With the rest of the matches throughout the year being regular courses of fire, hopefully this won’t be a problem again.
I would like to thank Phil, Rudy, Tim, Don, Julie, Tony, Joe, Rod and Angel for a full days work SO’ing the shooters through the match. Without the time you volunteer, there wouldn’t be a program. Thank you.
