Where did everybody go? Doesn’t everyone like to shoot in sunshine and 70 degree weather? Mother Nature must have been down the street shooting herself, because it was picture perfect day at ALGC this past Saturday for the 58 shooters that checked the radar.
Everyone was given warning to practice those long shots, some did, and some didn’t. A 40-yard shot with a pistol is not out of reach. These shooters proved that point with perfect scores of 0 down:

Don Amstburg (one handed, with a 44mag. Look out Callahan!)

Rod Cabage shot the entire match with only 2 points down, great shooting Rod. Phil Tolbert took 1st place in SSP as a Sharpshooter, and 3rd place overall. Somebody has been practicing! Are youngest competitor, Gino Lavalle, was finally back with us after suffering a knee injury and down the entire summer. Gino did some catching up after have problems on “Stop the kidnapper”. He managed to pull off a second place finish in SSP as a NO and 30th overall. Not bad for a 10 year old!!
Help was looking kind of light before match day, but thanks to Don and Julie Amstburg, George Durinka (Combat Quisene), and Therese Lavalle, we managed very well. Big thanks to Therese for driving all the way from Brunswick to pick up are pizzas from Attilios (330-225-2828 ask for Danny, mention Tony from ALGC). We had two new prospects for SO’s that where scorekeeping: Jeff Gerhart and Tony Zingale. Thanks guys for the commitment! And thanks to all the other SO’s that had to punish themselves in the 70 degree weather and sunshine.
