IDES OF MARCH MATCH AND CHILI-BEAN BURNOFF
Saturday, March 15th, 2003
Tactical Shotgun Standards CourseThis match was an extensive test of
most of the skills that are useful in the tactical / defensive use of the
shotgun. It required a minimum of 42 buckshot loads, and 8 slugs. The purpose of
this course was to set a "base-line" for performance, similar to the IDPA
Classifier. As such, all stages were skill-drill type stages, with no scenario
stages.
The weather warmed up nicely to the point that most shooters were
in their shirt sleaves. We had a good turn out with about 15 shooters
participating.
Chili-Bean Burn-offFollowing the shooting, there will be a potluck meal
at the pavilion, featuring your favorite chili or bean soup recipe. Please bring
a crock-pot of your favorite main course or side dish. Paper / plastic dishes
and utensils will be available, but it is suggested that you bring your own
dishes and utensils. This event will start immediately after the range has been
cleaned up, and will go on late into the evening. Note: This is a BYOB
event!
