2005
Three Gun MatchThis year's three-gun match was a fantastic finish to the third year of the Tactical Rifle and Shotgun Program. Thanks to the help of a lot of people, this match went off without a hitch, on one of the last summer-like days of the year.
Four courses of fire offered the following challenges:
- A rifle-only course with 32 targets, requiring precision
shooting, shooting on the move and shooting from cover, all in
one stage.
- A rifle/handgun stage requiring fast and furious rifle
shooting, followed by a transition to handgun shooting
- A shotgun only stage, including buckshot, long-range slug
shooting AND a new drag-dummy (the 100-plus pound Sgt. Woody).
- A shotgun/handgun stage, including the incredibly difficult
Double-Junkie Mover.
Judging from the smiles and comments, everyone had a good time. Due to the many different combinations of rifles, shotguns and handguns, not many people were in direct competition with each other, over the course of the entire match. However, overall totals are included for entertainment (and bragging) purposes only!
