Sniper Match

Where: 200 & 300yd ranges/ALGC
Sign In: 9am-1130am at the 300yd range shelter.
Round Count: 24 rounds minimum, you will need more!

Stage one: This stage will be the entire 300yd range. The shooter will be required to acquire the correct firing solution, and engage targets accordingly at 300yds. Please know this zero, and be able to make 300yd head shots.

Stage two: Stage two will be at the 200yd range. At this stage, the shooter will be given time to set up, engage multiple targets, THEN, move to another firing position on the clock.

Stage three: 200yd range. Simple: Break 4 clay pigeons at 200yds. Keeping a bullet inside of 4in at 200yds is not too much to ask.

RESULTS:

The near perfect weather held out just long enough for all 10 shooters to finish their match, for this challenging course that Paul Le Massena was kind enough to run as a turn-key operation, giving the T R & S staff a break.

Stage One was at three hundred yards, requiring quick decision making, target acquisition, and head and body shots. Stage Two required shooting, moving and reloading on the clock, at 200 yards. Stage Three gave people the most trouble. Paul set up clay pigeons in a rack at 200 yards. All you had to do is break them all. Sounds easy, right? Obviously, your gun has to be perfectly zeroed to hit these small targets. On top of that, .223 punches nice little holes in these, without breaking them, requiring multiple hits. More than one shooter left intact clay pigeons down range, while most shooters (including this match director), had to re-engage targets in order to break them up enough to count.
