Tactical
Carbine Clinic / Tactical Carbine Standards
Saturday, May 27th
8:00
am at the Pavillion
No pre-registration will be
required, but we would appreciate a heads up so that we can get
a rough head count. You can contact the match director at:
tactical@ashlandlakegunclub.org
Note: this clinic is NOT a
sniper rifle clinic. This course is geared towards the Tactical
Carbine class of weapons, but Battle Carbines and Battle Rifles
may also be used. Bolt Action Sniper Rifles, heavy SPR's or
bolt-action Battle Rifles will NOT work for this course and
afternoon match. A description of
the various rifle classes can be found at here.
We will be working on relatively
short-range rifle shooting (100 yards and less), with an
emphasis on gun handling skills with semi-automatic rifles. This
clinic is not for completely inexperienced shooters.
Participants are expected to know the basics of safe gun
handling, marksmanship, and the operation of their gun. If you
aren't sure if you meet these qualifications, please contact the
match director ahead of time.
What to bring: Gun - A
semi-automatic rifle or carbine (e.g.: AR-15, AK-47, M-14 clone,
etc.). At least two spare magazines.
Ammo: A minimum of 100
rounds of rifle ammunition.
Misc: A sling would be
useful, but is not mandatory. Some type of magazine carrier
would be useful. If you don't own one, wear a garment that has
deep pockets. If you have an Open Bolt Indicator, bring it!
Dress for the weather. The ranges can be muddy.
Cost: $10, plus $5
Affiliate Membership Fee for non-members. If you would like to
shoot the afternoon match after attending the clinic, this will
cost you an additional $5.
Hearing and eye protection are
mandatory AT ALL TIMES when you are on the range. NO
EXCEPTIONS!!
We will finish the clinic at Noon,
take a short break to eat lunch, then set-up for the afternoon
match. Lunch and beverages will NOT be provided.
Tactical Carbine Standards
This double-header event brought together some brand new shooters, and some experienced experts, for a long day on the range, with plenty of shooting. People who attended both the clinic and match definitely got their money?s worth.
