17 Shotgun Match
 A great day for the sounds of buckshot and 12 G Slugs ringing through the air on Sunday - Weather was perfect, attendance was good, and the shooting was fun!
After several hours of the Shotgun Clinic, shooters tested their skills on the first shotgun CoF of the year in the Standards Match, a basic course designed to test all aspects of the combat shotgun and transition to pistol.
Nathan Goebbels was the Heavy Gun Division and overall winner, with Roy Mitchell taking 1st in the enhanced division. (There was a bit of confusion regarding the Stock division winner due to equipment descriptions and divisions listed on the sheets, we will resolve this question shortly.)
The Clinic was attended by a crack team of ALGC ballistic experts who demonstrated various performance issues regarding the 12 Gauge shotgun vs. assorted pistol rounds on carefully calibrated media under scientifically controlled conditions. The Cliff notes from these scientific studies read: “The scattergun wins, every time. Shooting stuff is fun.”
