RIFLE CQB STANDARDS - 2009

Report & Scores

  • Four IDPA targets at backstop
  • Position A at 30 yards (no cover)
  • High cover at 20 yards (position B)
  • Low cover at 15 yards (position C)
  • 36 rounds, at least two magazines needed for Rifle with Sling – Pistol required, One Mag with 8 rounds
  • Rifle and Pistol on Body for entire Course, Sling on entire time
String One – 16 rounds, Limited Vickers (all on one start)

Shooter starts with gun loaded with 8 rounds maximum, safety off, at hip-ready at Position A. On the start signal, the shooter begins moving to Position B. While moving, the shooter engages the targets with four rounds shooting on the move. Shooter must fire while moving, and fire four rounds before reaching Position B. Failure to do so is a procedural, no warnings.

From Position B, the shooter will engage T1-T4 with one round each, from cover, in tactical priority (slicing the pie). Shooter then performs a slide lock reload.

The shooter then begins moving to Position C, engaging T1-T4 with one round each (any order), while moving. All targets must be shot on the move, before reaching Position C.

At Position C, the shooter will assume a low cover position, and engage T1-T4 with one shot each, in tactical priority (slicing the pie).


String Two – Bill’s AR Drill - 8 rounds, Limited Vickers

Shooter starts with gun loaded with at least 8 rounds, safety off, at Shoulder-Ready, standing at Position C. On the start signal, the shooter engages T1 with 8 shots as quickly as possible.

String Three – 8 rounds, Limited Vickers

Shooter starts with gun loaded with at least 8 rounds, safety off, at Shoulder-Ready, standing at Position C. On the start signal, the shooter engages T1-T4 with one round each (any order), while retreating to cover at Position B. From Position B, engage T1-T4 with one head-shot each, in tactical priority (slicing the pie).

String Four – 4 rounds, Limited Vickers

Shooter starts with gun loaded with at least 4 rounds, safety off, at Hip-Ready, standing at Position B. On the start signal, the shooter moves to the weak-side of cover, and engages T1-T4 with one shot each from the weak-shoulder, in tactical priority (slicing the pie). Gun must start off in the hands that he would normally carry it in for strong side shooting.

String Five – 4 Rounds, Limited Vickers

Shooter begins with Rifle empty at Position C, bolt closed and cocked at low ready. At buzzer, shooter raises rifle to eye, pulls trigger on empty chamber, and immediately transitions to handgun. Engage T1-T-4 to body.

String Six– 4 Rounds, Limited Vickers

Same as String Five, except headshots.
