Shotgun Classifier Scores

This years’ clinic and standards took place on the weekend of Memorial Day. A total of 13 shooters enjoyed the great weather at ALGC. We had a total of 12 firing points for patterning the shotgun, one particular interesting note was how the shot group size varied widely from each shotgun and load. A gentlemen shooting Federal Flight-Controlled buckshot had an amazingly tight pattern, easily ¼ the size of the other typical patterns at equal distances. This is why you NEED to pattern you shotgun/ammo.
As usual the power demonstration of the 12 gauge shotgun compared to the pistol shows why the 12 gauge is king. It was awesome. The photos seem to tip the scales in favor of the 12 gauge. Guess which one is the 12 gauge? I think it is one great reason to own and know how to use a 12 gauge shotgun. ALGC will have more shotgun matches throughout the year and we look forward to seeing you there honing your shotgun skills.
I would like to thank everyone for coming out and making it another great day of shooting, special thanks to all the S.O.’s for helping out and showing how to put the, boot and/or butt, to the bad guys. Must be some new “IDPA” rule change I am unaware of. All joking aside thanks much!
