GUN FUN MATCH
June 23, 2012I first and foremost want to thank John Moson, Han Sim, Ton Kohl, Mark Weston, Jeff Gerhart, and all others who helped setup and run the 3 gun fun match. Roy Mitchell and I truly appreciate all the hard work and dedication it takes to contribute to our program. Without your participation we could not have pulled off this event. Keep up the great work guys!
Secondly I want to thank all the people who came out on Saturday to shoot the 3 gun fun match. We had a fantastic turnout of 31 shooters with a wonderful hot and sunny day. The day proved to be very busy with 4 pistol bays and the 100 yard rifle range churning out vast amounts of lead and burnt powder. Adding to that, there was also a side match of “Man vs. Man” to round out a full range of 3 gun fun shooting.
Congratulations to Ron Dodge for taking first place in the stock division and also for having the best time overall, just edging me out by 1.7 seconds. Darn good shooting Ron! Congrats to Bob Wagner for the one and only spot in the heavy gun division, good to see someone shooting in the heavy gun. There’s something about the lines of an M1A that’s just hard to not like. One more note to make, it was nice to see some of the guys who haven’t been out in a while to shoot. Keep on coming out for more matches guys. I personally would like to see this event become a regular yearly match. We had positive input and if the continued support of volunteers is there, we can make that happen.
The Swamp gods will be calling out for all the Francis Marion faithful. F.M.XXXII is the next scheduled TR&S event. Hope to see you there, if you dare?
