Long Range Rifle Match 2013The weather for the match was perfect. This was our first time using only par times and I feel it worked well. We separated prep time from shooting time on the 300 yard range, but I believe in the future we will combine them together and let the shooter figure it out on his/her own time, while making things hopefully less complicated. Nobody shot the course clean, everybody was down points, out of nine total hits on the 200 yard range the highest hit total was only 7 out of 9 possible. On the 300 yard range the only person able to keep all 15 rounds in the bulls was Roy Mitchell, but fell apart on the 200, bad mojo I guess. Sorry Roy you just can’t win them all.
Of note, out of the top five shooters only one was an auto, who came in second place. Congratulations to Dan on some fine shooting. Make it a point to shoot some future matches, we like the competition. Finally thanks to all the shooters who came out and spent time on the range with us for our last match of the year. Already looking forward to 2014, hope to see everyone there.
