Notice
for M1 for Vet’s Benefit Match
June 10
th
As
an added incentive for participants in the M1 for Vets Benefit Match
we will be awarding a Criterion M1 barrel to the match winner. In
addition, since this match is CMP sanctioned, achievement pins will
be awarded for CMP published cut scores. All participants will be
given certificates of attendance.
Firing
will begin at 10am sharp for the first relay. Please be there by
9:30 to help set up target frames and register if you are planning on
firing the first relay. Trigger weighing will also be required prior
to the match for M1 rifles.
If
you don’t have an M1, no problem, any rifle will be allowed in
an out of competition class and re-entries will be allowed for
both classes. Out of competition class will not be eligible for
prizes or achievement pins, but you can share if the fun.
Please
see the match bulletin on the club web page for course of fire
information.
Following
the match, ALGC will hold a special benefit dinner for participants,
friends and family. There will be a nice door prize offered and
opportunities to win many other prizes including a Ruger 10/22 rifle.
M1
for Vets is a charity started during the Iraq war to help wounded
combat veterans return to lives that are as normal as possible. Many
of the veterans are multiple amputees, who look forward to
participating with their peers in events such as National and
Regional rifle competitions. M1 for Vets provides transportation to
and from matches, housing, instruction and M1 rifles for qualifying
Vets.
Last
year, ALGC was able to donate $1450 to the program from the proceeds
from the match and dinner. Lets all pull together and try to double
that amount this year and make our club a leading supporter of this
fine organization.
Thank
you,
