Shotgun Clinic & Match

I am so glad we didn’t have a repeat of the first match (cold and wet). The weather was much more cooperative, this time around and made for an enjoyable day. We had 4 stages utilizing 4 pistol bays and the 100 yard range. A very big thank you to everyone who helped with setup, build course design and running the stages……couldn’t do it without you! Congratulations to those who took first place in their divisions, some shooters were very, very, very close to overtaking the top spot.
I want to officially welcome my new co-director
Vince Walker to the program. He is working hard to implement
his ideas on the program with the addition of prizes/raffles
and after match social gatherings with food and drink. I know
hungry and tired match participants will greatly appreciate
his offerings.
There were a couple standouts in the performance
category. One of those people was Jason Henthorne with the
best total time and ZERO points down for the transition
stage, very impressive job. I would have bet good money,
nobody, would have hit all 12 plates. Jason’s skill with
(front sight focus/trigger control) also paid off in the
prize competition where you had to put 1 round in a 1 inch
dot, 3 times. Tom Kohl also had an impressive run on one of
the stages, not sure if it was the Mudhole stage or the Right
side/Left side stage. The time and points down might have
been switched around on the score sheets. Either way, one of
those stages was “Get-n- her done son” nice job! Kudos to
anyone else who got a green box around your time/scores, you
obviously did something right at that moment.
Tim Swineford has been showing up at 7:00 am. to
help me set up most of the courses of fire. Unfortunately he
can’t make the next match so I am asking for a volunteer to
take his place. Let me know if you would /could take his
place for that match. Otherwise things may get a little
behind schedule that day!
